February/March 2010
Oscar Wilde

Another ER fire was thought to have started in the midship's of the generator flat at the Fuel Oil Booster pumps. The majority of the damage had been contained to the cable trays directly above and adjacent to the F.O. Booster pumps.

RGB had to completely remove the ECR floor in order to gain access to all of the damaged cables and penetrations. Paying special attention to area's where unnecessary splicing could be avoided to ensure that the restoration could be completed as efficiently as possible.

RGB completed complete restoration work on the following areas:

  • Lighting Boards
  • Navigational Boards
  • Heating Boards
  • Tie Line
  • Light Fittings
  • Fire Detection System
  • Water Tight Door
  • Control Panels
  • CCTV System

The restoration was completed in 4 weeks and the Oscar Wilde was commissioned for service soon after.
